Safer Roads Campaign 2017

The Singapore Road Safety Council (SRSC) and the Traffic Police (TP) – together with partners, the Singapore Kindness Movement (SKM) and the Land Transport Authority (LTA) – launched the Safer Roads Campaign 2017, themed “Choose Graciousness”, at Our Tampines Hub on Tuesday, 21 March 2017. The event was graced by Mr Amrin Amin, Parliamentary Secretary for Home Affairs.

The Campaign called upon road users to practise good RoadSense and “Choose Graciousness” when using the roads to ensure a safer and pleasant experience for all. A series of themed videos and banners with road safety messages were co-produced by the four organisers to reach out to targeted road users. The videos were rolled out on social media platforms like SKM and the Use Your RoadSense Facebook pages, while the banners were placed on lamp posts at selected hot spots islandwide.

The videos and banners targeted road user groups, urging them to adopt safe driving/riding habits. The collaterals focused on advising motorists, cyclists and pedestrians to choose gracious and considerate acts while on the roads to safeguard lives.

SRSC and TP, together with its close partners, hope that these initiatives would promote more graciousness on the roads. This will help to create a safer road culture in Singapore.
